PENDLETON – A large number of streets and some parking lots in Pendleton will face temporary closures during maintenance work beginning June 15. City officials say it should be completed by the end of the month.
This year’s project will impact 34 paved areas. Signs will be placed before the work begins, advising motorists that on-street parking will be prohibited. Vehicles found parked within those areas will be towed.
Slurry seal is a maintenance process used to extend the life of streets and parking lots that are rated satisfactory or good. It is less costly than an overlay. Funding comes from the Pendleton Street Maintenance Fund and the Oregon Surface Transportation Program.
Roads will need to be closed during and immediately after the slurry seal. Barricades will be set out during the work and while the material sets after application. Each area is expected to be closed less than one day.
The list of roads and parking lots involved is available on the 2026 Slurry Seal Projects Page at pendletonprojects.com.
