PENDLETON — A residential structure fire damaged a home in Pendleton early Friday morning, though all occupants managed to evacuate safely.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1200 block of NW Furnish Place at 1:25 a.m. after receiving reports of a blaze. The first engine on the scene reported finding flames on the exterior of the residence that had already begun to extend into the attic.

Crews from the Pendleton Fire and Ambulance Department, supported by a mutual aid engine from the Umatilla Tribal Fire Department, worked to contain the incident. Officials said the fire was brought under control within 15 minutes of the first unit’s arrival.

No injuries were reported among the residents or emergency responders.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
