PENDLETON – The Pendleton Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for spring break. It’s from March 24-27 and parents of first through sixth grade students who can’t get time off can register their kids now for Spring Break Camp.

The kids won’t just play at the Helen McCune Rec Center. Recreation Coordinator Courtney Summerfield is planning activities in and around the area. Children will go bowling at the Wildhorse Funplex, have a tour and work on a project at the Pendleton Center for the Arts, and visit the Children’s Museum of Eastern Oregon. There will also be both structured games and unstructured play time as week as well as guided arts and sciences projects.

Trips to the Pendleton Public Library and visits to city parks are planned (weather depending). There will also be a snack time. In addition, the students are expected to bring a lunch from home each day. The camp will last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The cost is $180 per camper for the full week. Daily detailed itineraries will be sent out to participating families.
