PENDLETON – Pendleton’s airport tower manager is going to be taking over responsibilities for ground operations as well. Economic Development Director Steve Chrisman announced that Dan Bandel will be the new airport manager for Eastern Oregon Regional Airport.

Bandel has spent years ensuring the skies above Pendleton are safe, managing the flow of aircraft, guiding pilots as they take off and land, and monitoring craft that are traveling through the skies.

In an interview in 2020, Bandel talked about the addition of the Pendleton UAS Test Range, saying he was witnessing aviation history.

In the interview on the KUMA Coffee Hour this morning (Friday), Chrisman said Bandel would be starting soon, and that a release with details would come out later today. We have learned that his first day on the job will be Feb. 15.
