PENDLETON – The Pendleton Chamber of Commerce is going to spread the love with its Get Wild in Pendleton series of events this summer. Chamber CEO Cheri Rosenberg says the planning committee is working hard to make sure its activities do not conflict with other events planned for summer weekends.
She said the Pendleton Wild West Beer Fest on June 17 in Roy Raley Park is a perfect example.
“It will be a get wild at Beer Fest,” she said. “We’ll see that in hopes of drawing people to those events, so it will look a little different.”
She said that major events are on the calendar in Pendleton for every month except August. That’s when Get Wild in Pendleton will be trying an open mic competition the last weekend of that month.
“Hopefully, down the road, we can turn that into a bit bigger event, maybe a two-day event,” Rosenberg said. “We’ll kick that off this year and see how it goes.”
Rosenberg said the chamber is also working with downtown businesses and they hope to have the outside eating areas installed before the Memorial Day weekend.
