Pendleton arts center director reappointed to Oregon Arts Commission

SALEM – Pendleton Center for the Arts Executive Director Roberta Lavadour has been appointed to another term on the Oregon Arts Commission (OAC). The appointment was announced Monday by Gov. Tina Kotek.
The OAC is comprised of volunteer leaders who oversee a state agency that provides art programs, critical financial and technical support for cultural organizations and artists, and meaningful leadership around arts and culture needs, according to a news release from Kotek’s office.
Lavadour has served as the executive director of the Pendleton Center for the Arts for 20 years. She also serves on the Pendleton Art Commission. She is an active studio artist. Her books and designed bindings are exhibited in collections nationally and internationally.
“Oregon’s culture is defined by both the making of art and vigorously supporting that work,” Lavadour said. “Fostering a culture of creative expression unlocks problem-solving skills that energize our public spaces, our economy, and our families,” she stated.
Lavadour earned recognition as an Oregon Arts Commission Fellow in 2002. The OAC release states she brings a unique perspective that blends professional artistry with a commitment to local growth.
