Pedestrian is declared deceased

HERMISTON – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office says the Regional Dispatch Center received multiple calls at around 1:30 p.m. today (Monday) that a man was walking or jumping in front of cars in the area of Umatilla River Road and Northwest 11th Street.
While en route, deputies received a report that the man had been struck by a vehicle. He was declared deceased at the scene.
In addition to the sheriff’s deputies, the Oregon State Police responded. An investigation is underway and no further information will be released at this time.
