PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission meets at 6 p.m. today (Tuesday), and a city council meeting follows an hour later. The members of the council are the commissioners for the PDC, which operates for the urban renewal district.
In addition to committee reports, the PDC is changing its format. Instead of holding a separate work session to discuss future goals and projects, that discussion will now occur during the regular monthly meeting. The commission will work on fine-tuning the process of setting its priorities and programs for at least the next five years.
The city council meeting has two public hearings scheduled. One involves allowing the Oregon Department of Revenue to collect the city’s lodging tax. The other is for adopting the structural specialty codes as they were updated by the state.
Under the new business category, the council will have a first reading of a resolution to annex 63 acres of land contiguous to the city limits near the airport that was recently brought into the Pendleton urban growth boundary.
The meetings are in council chambers at Pendleton City Hall. They can be accessed via Zoom. The meeting ID is 848 8298 2122, and the pass code is 248854.
