PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission meets at 6 p.m. today (Tuesday), followed by the Pendleton City Council meeting at 7 p.m. The meetings will be carried via Zoom.

The PDC will hear a number of committee reports, including a Jump Start request for help funding a boutique hotel above Sisters Café, and a grant application for work that needs to be done to the Roy Raley House owned by Raphael Hoffman. The commissioners will also elect a chair and vice chair and hear a report on an inventory of parking availability in the downtown area.

The city council will hear annual reports from the planning commission, the transportation commission, and the Pendleton Convention Center Commission to kick off its meeting. The council will also consider renewing the interfund loan for UAS improvements at the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport. Those funds are aimed to completing the UAS North project.

The council will also consider a request from Police Chief Chuck Byram for a Ford F-150 police vehicle. Normally, the police department buys two new vehicles a year, but a supply shortage plus a $10,000 dollar jump in prices limited him to requesting one vehicle. He has negotiated with Hermiston Ford to pay a little over $37,000. It costs an additional $15,000 to have the vehicle outfitted.

The meetings are available via Zoom. The meeting ID is 848 8298 2122 and the pass code is 248854.
