PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission meets at 6 p.m. today (Tuesday), followed by a Pendleton City Council meeting at 7 p.m. Both meetings are accessible via Zoom.
The PDC will consider increasing the grants for Moto Stuff as it works to renovate the old fire station on Southwest Court Avenue. The renovation has been hit with unanticipated costs, in part due to labor and building supply shortages.
The PDC will also consider approving a business plan competition to be launched by the Jump Start Committee. After almost a year of work, the committee has created a competition that it believes will attract new business to the downtown core. It would invite entrepreneurs with a new business vision to attempt to win a prize of a $20,000 forgivable loan.
The city council will be asked to award a bid for building a bus barn on airport hill. The selection team for the project is recommending MWA Architects be awarded the contract to complete the planning phase of the work. The barn is being built on 8.9 acres of undeveloped land adjacent to the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport.
The council will also hear an update from city staff on the Oregon Department of Transportation Crosswalk Project. The 2022 construction season will focus on Southeast and Southwest Emigrant Avenue and Southwest Frazer Avenue.
Both meetings are available via Zoom. The meeting ID is 885 7628 0707 and the pass code is 912756.
