PRAIRIE CITY – The City of Prairie City just got a couple of new speed signs installed at either end of town along US Highway 26. They’re the type that display your speed and remind motorists when they’re going “Too Fast” and to “Slow Down” heading into town. Talking with former Mayor Jim Hamsher on an earlier episode of Coffee Time, he said the radar signs were made possible through a partnership with ODOT:

“We partnered with them. They purchased one and we purchased one.”

Current Mayor Scott Officer said there are talks of getting a push-button crosswalk installed in town as well as upgrades to several curb ramps along Front Street.
