PC School’s Bates Building to undergo renovation

PRAIRIE CITY – The Bates Building on the Prairie City School campus will soon be undergoing renovation. The building was originally the schoolhouse in Bates, and was moved to its current location in the 1970’s. Administrative Professional Susie Combs said work will begin quickly:

“The renovation on it is going to start in about two weeks…It’s hopefully going to be done by the last week in August—we plan on using it for school next year.

We’re going to be moving our Preschool program…and then we’re also planning on having a daycare out there. The Superintendent’s Office will be moving out there. Also, we’ll be having a room for board meetings.”

Combs said eventually the Bates Building will house the School-Based Health Center as well.
