Passerby alerts Kennewick couple of fire

KENNEWICK – An alert passerby gave a Benton County couple an early warning Tuesday night that their home was on fire. It happened around 6 p.m. on the 57000 block of East Clover Road in Kennewick.
A family staying nearby in a travel trailer used a fire extinguisher and a neighbor helped dump pots and pans of water before firefighters arrived. The fire damaged one corner of the garage.
A heated hose connected to a detached travel trailer or heat tape on an exterior faucet are being investigated as a possible starting point of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
