Pasco teacher arrested for alleged sexual exploitation of a minor

PASCO – A high school teacher at Chiawana High School in Pasco has been arrested on suspicion of felony sexual exploitation of a minor. Jeffrey A. Whitson, 43, was arrested Tuesday following a meeting with detectives from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the Pasco School District and booked into the Benton County Jail.
Detectives learned the Pasco School District had received an email from a concerned parent regarding Whitson having an inappropriate meeting with a 16-year-old female student. Whitson allegedly invited the student to his home in Benton County for a photo shoot on April 6. During this encounter the student was asked to pose in sexually suggestive and revealing positions.
The investigation is ongoing, and detectives ask if anyone has information about this incident or similar type incidents involving Whitson to call 509-735-6555.
