National Night Out events are on tap
National Night Out takes place annually on the first Tuesday in August and this year’s, needless to say, is today. The campaign promotes community partnerships with law enforcement, as well as neighborhood connections in an effort to make communities safer.
Here’s a list of National Night Out events across the Columbia Basin:
OREGON
Hermiston will host an ice cream and Popsicle party in the neighborhood of 870 East Quince Avenue at 6 p.m.
Echo residents are invited to George Park where a National Night Out event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a free barbecue dinner, bingo with prizes, a bike rodeo and free raffle drawings.
Umatilla will host an event from 6 to 8 p.m. at Village Square Park with music, hot dogs, bounce house, games and much more.
WASHINGTON
Walla Walla invites the community to come out to Pioneer Park from 5 to 7:30 p.m. where the event will kick off with an emergency services parade.
Dayton will host an National Night Out event at Dayton City Park from 5 to 8 p.m. with free refreshments, a Life Flight helicopter and various law enforcement vehicles on display.
