Parts of Phillip W. Schneider Wildlife Area reopen in Grant County

DAYVILLE – (Press Release from the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife)

ODFW’s Phillip W. Schneider Wildlife Area staff will open the Flat Creek access point for public use beginning Oct. 23. Other parts of the wildlife area remain closed due to the Rail Ridge fire and repair activities.

Flat Creek Road will be open to the Aldrich Ponds parking lot, the road to the west from there (Al’s Cabin) will remain closed to motorized vehicles. Ochoco and Malheur National Forest lands adjacent to the wildlife area remain closed with areas outside the fire perimeter scheduled to open Oct. 25.
