WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Pickleball Association has presented Walla Walla Parks and Recreation Director Andy Coleman with a $300,000 check. The money is to be used specifically for building the pickleball courts at the Mill Creek Sportsplex.

Improvements to Mill Creek Sportsplex are currently planned for later this year or early 2023. Design work on the $1.25 million dollar project is currently at 60 percent. The project is being funded by $950,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds and $300,000 or more in private donations.

The project will add eight pickleball courts, a maintenance facility, an expanded parking lot and frontage improvements along Garrison Creek.
