PENDLETON – The after school program for Pendleton elementary students will be up and running when the new school year starts. Parks and Recreation Director Liam Hughes says they’ll be taking reservations soon.
“All things are dropping into place,” Hughes said. “We’re really excited. We started it a couple of years ago and it’s been really successful and very well attended.”
Hughes said he knows the program is a success because of how much the students enjoy it.
“For me, one of the greatest things is when you hear parents say, ‘I don’t need child care, but my kid just enjoys it so much that we sign him up,’” Hughes said. “That’s always the best credit to the program, when the kids enjoy it so much they want to be there.”
