OWEB seeking public feedback on Clark Creek stream transfer project near Elgin

ELGIN – (Release from the OWEB) The Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB) is a state agency that provides grants to help Oregonians take care of local streams, rivers, wetlands, and natural areas. The Water Acquisition program provides grants for voluntary projects that increase stream flows and improve water cleanliness. Project No. 225-9900 

OWEB is considering a grant of funds to Trout Unlimited for a project that proposes to complete a permanent instream transfer that will improve streamflow in Clark Creek, a tributary of the Grande Ronde River. The improved streamflow will benefit habitat for native fish. The project is in the vicinity of Elgin in Union County, under Grant Application No. 225-9900-23501.  

OWEB welcomes written or verbal public comment on any application. All written comments and requests to make verbal comments to the board can be submitted on our website at https://www.oregon.gov/oweb/about-us/Pages/public-comment.aspx. The deadline for submitting written comments and requests to make verbal comments is 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024. Written comments will be provided to the board in advance of the meeting.   

Verbal comments: 

  1. Are limited to three minutes. 
  2. Will be heard in the public comment period. 

Provide the following information for virtual verbal comments:

  1. Your first and last name, 
  2. The topic of your comment, and 
  3. The phone number you will use when calling the meeting.  Also, note if the phone is a landline and you prefer to be scheduled for public comment early to avoid long-distance phone call charges.
