BAKER COUNTY – Oregon State Police in Baker County have released an update regarding a road closure that took place near Weatherby this past weekend. According to reports from OSP, a semi-truck hauling large bales of straw was traveling eastbound on I-84 near mile post 338, approximate three miles east of Weatherby, when the driver attempted to negotiate a curve. During the turn, one of the trailers with straw, overturned, spilling large bales into both eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic.
The upside-down trailer was in the B lane of traffic, and the bales were blocking the A lane. The scene was cleared, and the trailer was towed from the area.
