LA GRANDE — Over 1 million dollars has been distributed by Soroptimist International of La Grande (SIL) just in the past 10 years and late last week the group was able to distribute another round of funds to local organizations.
During a luncheon held by SIL the following organizations and/or individuals received funds:
•Art Center East (ACE)
•Larrisa Bomberger LPT
•Training and Employment Consortium (TEC)
•La Grande Main Street- Women in Business
•Sydney’s Drink and Design
•Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR)
•Blue Mountain Singletrack Trails Club
•Shelter from the Storm
•Next Step Pregnancy Center
•Oregon Department of Human Services
•Good Vibes Dog Training LLC
•CASA of Eastern Oregon
•Tanya Amorosino
•Online Dyslexia Reading Tutor Angela Marie D’Antonio LLC
•Girl Scouts of Oregon and SW Washington Girl Scout Troup 50145
•Northeast Oregon Area Health Education Center (NEOAHEC)
•Eastern Oregon University GED Program
•F Maxine and Thomas W Cook Memorial Library
To qualify for funds “Projects must be based in Union County and support the Soroptimist Mission and or Vision. Empowering women and girls through education or helping with resources to help women and girls reach their full potential and live their dreams,” according to Soroptimist International.
