WALLOWA COUNTY – The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is continuing its annual trout stocking season. Though drought conditions and water temperature issues have caused some changes to the stocking schedule, Wallowa County residents should still expect plenty of fish headed to Wallowa Lake.
In total for this month, 15,300 trout are slated to be stocked in the lake, including 14,700 legals and 600 trophies. 7,650 fish were already stocked last week, while the second batch of trout is planned to be stocked the week of June 22.
In addition to the Wallowa Lake, trout are also slated for Marr Pond, Victor Pond, Wallowa Wildlife Ponds (Weaver Pond), Teepee Pond, Honeymoon Pond, Kinney Lake, Salt Creek Summit Pond, and McGraw Pond. Get out there and fish!
