A suspect has been identified in this case and the investigation is moving forward. Thanks to the public for their assistance.

HERMISTON – The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division has run out of leads and is appealing to the public for help in a poaching case from the fall. It’s looking for the person or people driving an SUV near Hermiston in October 2021.

The light-colored vehicle was spotted near Hermiston on a mobile recording device. Unfortunately, the license plate is unreadable. Investigators believe the vehicle may be registered in Benton County, Washington, but OSP has not released why that is thought to be the case.

The vehicle is connected with a poaching incident that happened nearby. The news release issued by the division does not describe what was poached. It simply states that investigators have exhausted all other leads in this case and is asking anyone with any information to call the Oregon State Police Tip Line at 800-452-7888 or *677. People can also email TIP@osp.oregon.gov. Anyone who is sharing information should refer to case number SP21-290284.

Turn in Poachers offers preference points or cash rewards for information leading to the arrest or issuance of a citation to a suspect for unlawful killing of wildlife or waste of big game.
