OSP Seeks Help in Finding Poacher(s) in Baker County

BAKER COUNTY – (Release from OSP) The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for the public’s help to identify the person(s) responsible for the unlawful take and waste of a mule deer doe in Baker County.

On August 29, 2023 F&W Troopers responded to a mule deer doe that had been shot and left to waste on Hwy 245 at the Junction of Stices Gulch RD.  This location is within the Sumpter Wildlife Management Unit, approximately ten miles south of Baker City.

The TIP program offers preference point rewards for information leading to an arrest or issuance of a citation for the unlawful take/possession or waste of big game mammals.

The TIP program also offers cash rewards for information leading to an arrest or issuance of a citation for the unlawful take/possession or waste of Mountain Sheep, Mountain Goat, Moose, Elk, Deer, Antelope, Bear, Cougar, Wolf, Upland Birds, Waterfowl, and Furbearers. Cash rewards can also be awarded for the unlawful take of Game Fish and Shellfish and for Habitat Destruction.
