EASTERN OREGON – The Oregon State Police are urging motorists to use caution during poor weather conditions. With many people still away for the holidays, the roadways will be inundated with travelers trying to make it home this weekend. The message law enforcement has for motorists is to, “take your time and check ahead on road conditions.” Also, troopers are looking out for distracted drivers and are reminding drivers to drive sober.
“The holidays are a special time of year for most, and we want our community members to enjoy this season. We need commitment from our drivers that they’ll keep the roads free of drunk drivers so that everyone can have a safe holiday. This is a campaign to get the message out that drunk driving is illegal and it takes lives,” said officers from the La Grande State Police.
