OSP arrests alleged driver in pursuit

PENDLETON – Oregon State Police reports that the man believed to be driving a stolen vehicle involved in a pursuit with troopers Friday is now in Umatilla County Jail. The vehicle was recovered near Emigrant Springs.

Charged in the pursuit is Raul Alejandro Abrego, 35, of Portland and he was arrested at Wildhorse Resort & Casino. OSP credits a cooperative investigation with Umatilla Tribal Police for the arrest.

Abrego is being held on a no-bail fugitive warrant.

The Umatilla County Jail roster indicates two other individuals were arrested at approximately the same time and at the same location as Abrego by UTPD. They are Danae Fawn Alstad, 35, and Alex Valdiaviez, 38. Alstad is being held on a fugitive warrant with no bail and Valdiaviez is charged with hindering prosecution with a bail of $10,000.

NEW (ADDED AT 11: 30 a.m. Saturday): Umatilla Tribal Police reports it had set up to re-initiate a pursuit if the vehicle fled. The suspects above apparently had another vehicle traveling with them. Tribal officers located the second vehicle at Wildhorse and took the suspects into custody. All three had outstanding warrants. Additional charges are expected for the stolen vehicle, the attempt to elude, and drugs that were located the stolen vehicle.
