OREGON – September 19 is National Voter Registration Day. Oregonians are encouraged to register to vote or, if needed, update their voter information to remain eligible. Updates to voter registration may be required if a resident:
Residents looking to vote for the first time may pre-register at the age of 16 though will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after their 18th birthday. First time voters can register online at https://sos.oregon.gov/voting/pages/registration.aspx?lang=en. Registered voters that would like to review or update their information can also do so online at https://sos.oregon.gov/voting/pages/myvote.aspx?lang=en
The registration deadline, as listed on the Oregon Secretary of State’s website, is “the 21st calendar day before an election to be eligible to vote in that election.” Residents may also reach out to their local county clerk’s office with questions.
