Oregon State Police to Conduct Entry Level Testing at Baker High School

BAKER CITY — The Oregon State Police (OSP) is set to hold entry-level testing for aspiring law enforcement officers at Baker High School on Saturday, August 19. This event provides a unique opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement to showcase their skills and dedication.
Captain Kyle Kennedy of the OSP says the agency is looking to fill more than 100 positions and that include positions across eastern Oregon.
“Our aim is to identify individuals who possess not only the necessary qualifications but also a strong commitment to upholding the values of the Oregon State Police.” said Kennedy
Saturday’s testing is for open Recruit Trooper positions and will entail testing on pushups, situps, sprinting and a 1 ½ mile run. Anyone interested in attending should email osptrooper@osp.oregon.gov to sign up and OSP asks you to wear clothes for physical testing, such as exercise outfits.
Captain Kennedy says a career as a State Trooper is a rewarding one. “Most troopers start out in the traffic division, but once you grow into your role, there are plenty of options for your path. That includes fish & game, SWAT, criminal detective and much more. If you have a skill and you dedicate yourself to being the best trooper you can, we’ll find a position that works for you here.”
