Oregon State Police routine stop leads to arrest

Harney County-On Thursday March 9, 2023 at approximately 3:14pm, Oregon State Police conducted a traffic stop on a gray Toyota 4 runner on HWY 20 MP 147 for driving while suspended.

During the course of the stop, Oregon State Trooper, Trooper Caldwell observed that the driver Brian Keen, 51, of Coos Bay was unusually nervous. As he shifted his body, Trooper Caldwell noticed a handgun that had been concealed from view.

A check of the driver’s criminal history revealed that he was a convicted felon out of California. Keen was taken into custody for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and booked at the Harney County Jail.
