WALLA WALLA COUNTY – An Oregon motorcyclist died following a collision Thursday on Last Chance Road north of Whitman Drive, according to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office (WWCSO).
At 6:03 p.m., law enforcement and medics were dispatched to the scene for a motorcycle accident involving a solo occupant.
The motorcyclist was identified as Benjamin Michael Hubbard, 21, from Weston, by Walla Walla County Coroner Richard Greenwood.
WWCSO said Hubbard was southbound on Last Chance Road and drove off the paved portion of the roadway and collided with a power pole.
Medics provided life saving measures, but unfortunately, Hubbard passed away due to his injuries. Next of kin has been notified.
WWCSO said speed was a factor as the power pole was sheered off at the ground. Authorities said they are unsure of any other contributing factors.
