Oregon lawmakers help secure $5M for John Day’s wastewater plant

JOHN DAY – Local and state government officials worked together to help secure funding for the big wastewater treatment plant project being undertaken by the City of John Day. Representative Mark Owens was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently and reflected on the win for John Day and Canyon City:
“One of the last bills in session is where a lot of funding goes out. The City of John Day and City of Canyon City had been working with us tirelessly—thank you—in trying to figure out how to get funding for their wastewater treatment center that they have to put in. We were successful, and I say, ‘we’ as in Senator Mike McLane and myself, were successful in securing five million dollars for them.”
