SALEM – The Oregon Cultural Trust is providing $1,125,423 to county and Tribal cultural coalitions for the current fiscal year. The trust already helps fund more than 450 organizations across the state for arts and humanities projects.

The county and Tribal coalitions work to build community and strengthen local economies through cultural endeavors. The funds are distributed by a formula that allows for per capita funding adjustments for rural and distressed counties. The coalitions then pass the grant money on to help award efforts within their communities.

The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation will receive $9,046 dollars. Umatilla County’s award is $22,522. Morrow County can expect $11,004. The grant for Gilliam County is $8,864. Oregon Cultural Trust has operated for 25 years.

The cultural tax credit allows Oregonians who donate to a qualifying cultural nonprofit to also claim a 100 percent matching tax credit. The Oregon Cultural Trust license plate, shown above, helps fund the cultural tax credit as well.
