WALLOWA – (Information from the Oregon Department of Transportation) In the latest update on the OR82 bridge near Wallowa, ODOT announced that the detour along Lower Dimond Lane, which has been in place during weekdays to accommodate girder setting, is likely to end by Memorial Day weekend. Drivers should still expect traffic delays at the bridge itself as work continues. The ODOT update is as follows:
The girder set is going well, and the contractor plans to be finished with the detour by the holiday weekend. For the remainder of the summer, traffic will be controlled by flaggers or the temporary traffic signal during working hours and by the temporary traffic signal during non-working hours. Up to 20-minute delays can be expected 24/7. The signal is expected to remain in place until the new bridge is open to traffic this fall.
