WALLOWA – (Release from the Oregon Department of Transportation) The contractor will be working on wingwalls and bearings to prepare for the setting of Steel Girders scheduled to begin the second week of May. During the setting of the steel girders, OR82 will be closed at the existing bridge. A detour will be in place directing traffic around the closure on Lower Diamond Rd. The detour will be in place during the work week and OR82 will be open for the weekends. The girder set is scheduled to take no more than two weeks. A temporary traffic signal is in place. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers or the temporary traffic signal during working hours and by the temporary traffic signal during non-working hours. Up to 20-minute delays can be expected 24/7. The signal is expected to remain in place until the new bridge is open to traffic this fall.
