OR 11 crash damages guard rail, but driver avoids serious injury

ADAMS – A single vehicle crash Friday on Oregon Highway 11 damaged the guard rail, and sent a vehicle 50 feet down an embankment.

Oregon State Police (OSP) reported that around 5:30 a.m. the driver, a 37-year-old Pendleton man, was traveling south in a Ford Expedition when he fell asleep, crashed through the guard rail and rolled multiple times before coming to rest approximately 50 feet off the road and down an embankment.

The driver was able to extricate himself from the vehicle and sustained only minor cuts, he left the scene in another vehicle. He was warned for failing to drive within his lane.

OSP was assisted by East Umatilla Fire Medics and Oregon Department of Transportation.
