Open burning restrictions will go effect July 1, 2023 for Burns, Hines and Harney County

Harney County-Open burning information for residents of the City of Burns, the City of Hines and Harney County.

Open burning restrictions will go into effect July 1, 2023. The following burning activities will not be allowed. Open burning (burning of yard debris or large piles of woody debris) and the use of burning barrels.

Recreational fires, campfires, and warming fires are still allowed but we ask you to take extra precautions with these fires. Please follow all safety tips in the burn regulations and ensure your fire is completely extinguished and cold to the touch before leaving it.

Failure to comply with these regulations may result in a citation.
