Ontario Police arrest wanted man who barricaded himself in home

ONTARIO — (Release by Ontario Police) On Feb. 19, Ontario Police Department attempted to contact Domonic Wagner, 37, in the 700 block of Fortner Street. OPD had probable cause for his arrest, including charges of assault in the second degree and assault in the fourth degree.

Wagner, the lone occupant, refused contact with OPD and barricaded himself inside the residence. As a result, law enforcement closed Fortner Street between Northwest 7th Avenue and Northwest 8th Avenue to vehicular traffic, and established a perimeter of the residence.

After securing a search warrant for Wagner’s arrest, OPD made entry into the residence. Wagner immediately surrendered and was arrested without injury and transported to Malheur County Jail.

OPD was assisted by Oregon State Police and Malheur County Sheriff’s Department, with Chief Michael Iwai thanking them for their assistance.
