BAKER CITY – The discovery of methamphetamine during a traffic stop let to the arrest of an Ontario man recently. According to reports from Oregon State Police (OSP) in Baker County, the driver, 41-year-old George Stephen Palmer was stopped at Highway 7 and David Eccles for Fail to Obey Traffic Control Device. Reasonable suspicion of the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance was developed leading to the Baker City Police Department deploying K9 Capa who alerted for drug detection.
Palmer was detained and a search of the vehicle yielded a criminal amount of methamphetamine and items of delivery.
Palmer was arrested by cite and release for Delivery of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine-2G or more.
