ONTARIO — Local emergency response capabilities are getting a major upgrade this year. Ontario Fire & Rescue has officially launched the 2026 Class A Burn Cell Project, an initiative designed to provide firefighters with a state-of-the-art environment for high-stakes training.
City officials emphasize that this project is important investment in firefighter safety, training, and emergency preparedness.
Construction is expected to move quickly once a contractor is selected this spring. The city has set a target completion date of June 26, 2026, ensuring the facility is operational for the peak of the summer season.
