ONTARIO — The Smoke Detector Program in Ontario wrapped up last week. During October for Fire Prevention Month, a group of volunteers with Ontario Fire and Rescue and the American Red Cross offered free smoke detector tests, as well as installation of smoke detectors, free of charge for those in need.
To the volunteers, OFR personnel said, “Thank you for going above and beyond to help protect our neighbors and make homes in our community safer!”
Ontario residents who do not have working smoke detectors can contact the Ontario Fire Department to schedule an appointment. Call (541) 881-3216 or email Brittany at brittany.ward@ontariooregon.org.
