ONTARIO — Feline lovers—here’s a chance to get some quality kitty time, as well as help out within the community. According to their website, the Ontario Feral Cat Project is a nonprofit program, “…designed to reduce our community’s feral and stray cat overpopulation by using a technique of trap, neuter and return (TNR) to existing monitored colonies.”
The organization is currently seeking volunteers to help with caring for the pets involved in the project. A recent post from the Ontario Feral Cat Project states, “Giving just an hour or two a week is everything to these kitties…. They are counting on us!!
Some of our volunteers are caring for the kitties 7 days a week, some are volunteering twice a day…. We are tired. But our love for these kitties keeps us coming back!!”
The “kitty care” begins in the morning between 6:30 and 8 a.m. and continues with the afternoon care between 4 and 5 p.m. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
