SUMPTER – Three structures at the Sumpter Valley Railroad McEwen Depot have new roofs. The work was completed last week and is just one of a handful of projects that the railroad has planned.
These projects are made possible after the railroad was awarded $45,000 in funds from the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the general fund budget and Lottery Bond sales.
Other projects on the horizon include
-ADA access upgrades to the platform at McEwen and the deck at Sumpter Depot
-Creating a shade/cover for the open train cars
