One male reported deceased from accidental firearm discharge in Baker City

BAKER CITY — Update 10:20 AM: (Release from the Baker County District Attorney’s Office) Earlier this morning, an adult male was found deceased on the corner of fourth Street and Campbell Street. The male had suffered a single gunshot wound. The physical and video evidence showed that there was an accidental discharge of the firearm. The family has been notified. There is no danger to the public. The Baker city Police Department, Baker County sheriffs office, Oregon State police, Baker County District attorney’s office, and Baker County medical examiner’s office all participated in the investigation. At this time, any further questions can be referred to Lieutenant Wayne Chastain or District Attorney Greg Baxter.
