WALLOWA COUNTY – A yearling male Chesnimnus Pack wolf was lethally removed on the morning of May 3, 2022 under a kill permit issued by ODFW to a livestock producer that was experiencing chronic depredation.  Per the terms of the permit, the wolf was shot in the pasture where three calves were killed by Chesnimnus Pack wolves last week.

Additional livestock owned by the same livestock producer were confirmed as injured in another public-land pasture and the permit had already been amended to allow removal in that pasture. The permit allows for one more wolf to be taken to reduce depredation.
