One arrested following domestic disturbance and cross-traffic dash in La Grande

LA GRANDE –Thirty-eight-year-old John Robert Butchino (unknown address) was arrested following a domestic disturbance call and attempted on-foot escape in La Grande earlier this week. The La Grande Police Department initially responded to a reported domestic disturbance call at around 2:45 p.m. on Monday, December 2, at 3106 Island Avenue.
According to the La Grande Police Department, the domestic disturbance involved Butchino and an unnamed woman in front of the Umpqua Bank at 3106 Island Avenue. After officers made contact, Butchino fled on foot, running across Island Avenue and into oncoming traffic. He was then quickly apprehended by officers without further incident. Butchino was specifically arrested for Assault IV – Domestic Violence, and Disorderly Conduct II.
