PENDLETON – There’s a new way of gaining entry on the Olney Cemetery Mausoleum. Director Liam Hughes is hoping to spread the word among mausoleum key holders about the change before the Memorial Day weekend.
“For many years when someone buried a family member in the mausoleum, they received a key for the front door,” he said. “We have recently modernized to a combination lock where people have to enter a code.”
Hughes said that families who wish to visit the mausoleum need to call the Parks, Recreation, and Cemetery Department to be issued that code. He asks people to share the news so that those impacted stand a better chance of reaching out before Memorial Day.
The number to call during business hours is 541-276-8100.
