JOHN DAY – The Oregon Health Authority will be offering two free COVID-19 testing clinics in Grant County, with the first one being this Thursday, January 21st. Health Department Manager Jessica Winegar gives us more information:
“These tests will all be ‘send-out’ tests that are the PCR, so they’re a little more sensitive than the rapid tests. They don’t have any affiliation with the health department or the hospital.”
Since most COVID-19 testing in Grant County is done in the afternoon and evening, Winegar said these tests may be better for folks available in the morning hours. The clinics will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Grant County Fairgrounds.
Register and select your appointment time at www.doineedacovid19test.com.
It is a free, drive-through event. Everyone is welcome and no insurance is required. The OHA says it’s a quick and pain-free self-administered nasal swab. There must be one person per appointment, and each person must register individually. The second OHA testing clinic will be Thursday, January 28th, 2021.
