Officers hospitalized after contact with “white, powdery substance”

BURNS – Yesterday, the Harney County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Oregon State Police with a traffic stop on Highway 20 and Hotchkiss Lane, where the officers were exposed to what the Harney County Sheriff’s Office describes as a “hazardous, white powdery substance.”

The officers were transported to the hospital and are expected to make a full recovery. This incident remains under investigation and details will be released at a later time, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
