JOHN DAY – ODOT Region 5 Public Information Officer Vicki Moles was recently in Elkhorn Media Group’s John Day studio and informed radio listeners that with winter on the way, we can expect about the same level of service on our roads that we saw last winter:
“Our crews here in John Day and Austin, they’ve started their winter maintenance shifts. We’ve got staff on 24 hours [every day]. They’re out there and prepared for what winter might bring us.
As far as, like, a level of service, we can expect the same as last year, as far as keeping the roads clear. If we do have winter storms come through, we can expect snow and ice accumulation.”
