JOHN DAY – ODOT Region 5 Public Affairs Coordinator Vicki Moles was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently to discuss the stoplight intersection in John Day. While the light has been down, some folks have given input that they’d rather have it a 4-way stop all the time.

Moles said ODOT is considering that, and is looking for more public input:

“We’re going to start gathering some information—traffic counts, [and] what it would look like to turn the signal off. We are going to have a public open house and talk with the community about how we got here, why we are considering what we are considering, provide an opportunity for the community to assist us in this, and then we’ll get our plan together and we’ll be able to share our plan for what that looks like.”

The Town Hall will be held Thursday, November 14th at 6 p.m. We’ll provide further information as it comes out.
